:The Kölner
Dom :
One of the most magnificent beauty in
itself, which attracts an average 20,000 people per day and is currently the
tallest twin-spired church at 157 m (515 ft) tall.
Construction
of Cologne Cathedral commenced in 1248 and was halted in 1473, leaving it unfinished.
Work restarted in the 19th century and was completed, to the original plan, in
1880. You feel such a trivial mortal in front of this massive cathedral,
and you are just left imagining, that how could the people in 1248 built such a
gigantic monument! It’s an humongous task altogether to imagine of
building such a cathedral and then completing it with such an articulate grace!
I would definitely suggest that everyone who
visits Europe should definitely visit this Dom, to get astounded by the grandiose
of the structure.
This pic
was clicked last year, during my visit to Köln. I am planning a visit soon to
cover a proper photoshoot from all the dimensions. Do let me know if anyone is
interested in joining me, and also let me know your experience if you have
already visited the Kölner Dom!
See you
guys!
